Meet the Bakesmith
Hi! I'm Danny Smith, a long-time baker and graduate student studying Human Nutrition. I grew up and currently live in Orange County, CA, and I'm so excited to be sharing my confectionary creations with the local community! The Bakesmith is a licensed cottage food bakery that explores baking as a craft, a vessel for creativity, and a source of nostalgia, all while using the highest quality (and at times allergy-friendly) ingredients.
My Story
My baking journey began standing on a chair at 4 years old, helping my mom bake my grandma's chocolate chip cookie recipe. Every. Single. Week. Several years of fine motor development and Food Network-watching later, I took over full baking duties and explored new techniques, challenging desserts, and unique flavors. Baking was always a side passion as I studied the biological sciences in high school and college, until I started experiencing chronic health challenges that quickly changed the way I lived, ate, and (you guessed it) baked. I learned the importance of clean eating and sourcing organic and humane ingredients. They supported my healing and became a permanent addition to my kitchen creations. I honed in various allergy-friendly recipes tailored to my diet and those of family and friends. Now, I pride myself on baking for all the way that I bake for my family: using minimally processed ingredients that are organic, grass-fed, pasture-raised, and more whenever possible to support our everyday health while also producing tasty treats that bake life better!
How It Works
The Bakesmith is an online bakery that uses a pre-order method.
Each month, the Bakesmith releases a unique menu consisting of classic and/or seasonal items that are available for local pick-up in Anaheim Hills. On the scheduled "monthly drop" date starting at 10am, these bakery items will be released for you to pre-order (to reserve ahead of time for later pick-up)! Orders can be picked up at the designated date and time window. Only a limited quantity of bakery items will be released, so reserve yours early before they sell out! The next scheduled monthly drop date can be viewed and pre-ordered under the "Monthly Drop" tab.

We also regularly offer custom orders for events or larger quantities of bakery items. Custom orders are available for pick-up or delivery with a fee. The menu and ordering page is available under the "Custom Orders" tab.
